Otomoto was founded in September 2003, after securing the distribution of OS Giken products in Australia. Even though OS Giken had been in business in Japan for thirty years, this was the year that the company first began direct distribution to overseas markets. In the same year distributors were appointed in the UK and USA. Since then OS Giken has become much more widely known in Australia, especially in the import drag racing scene.
