This video of a group of guys drifting their modified Huffy Sliders through the twisties did the rounds big time in 2008. It’s since created a huge demand for Huffy Sliders but unfortunately finding one is near impossible. In 2009 Mad Dog Cycles modified and created these (also check their video here). Time to hit eBay I suppose?

Hailing from San Marcos California USA, Sportcar Motion is a performance car parts supplier who have built two impressive Honda race cars. Spot the JDMyard logo on the DC2R above? Yeah it’s nice to see an Australian company being represented on a US car huh?
You can check out their cars and their progress here
Oran Park Raceway was a motor racing circuit at Narellan in southwestern Sydney, Australia. Recently, the land on which the racetrack is on was sold to the Government of New South Wales for a new housing development. This has lead to closure of the track and will end 47 years of motorsport heritage at the facility.
The journey is the destination. As much as I love driving I think I love the researching, modifying, trials, errors and basically the entire process of getting to the end product even more.

ASM is the tuning brand of Autobacs ASM Yokohama, developing original parts for a wide range of vehicles. These parts range from original S2000 and BMW parts to unique designs for Recaro seats. The Autobacs ASM Yokohama flagship store has to be one of the cleanest aftermarket parts stores around and their ASM Blog is equally as awesome. They’ve even gone to the effort of translating their posts! Also worth checking is their drool worthy Recaro Blog.
Okay. I am hopeless at Street Fighter II. Can’t even do the combo for that fireball-hadoken thing, all I can do is the E-Honda hand-slap combo. I get my ass handed to me by 6yr olds. But….if you are one of those people whose fingers are still worn down to the nub and haven’t grown back since playing SFII in the 1990s, then this gadget may well be for you. It makes Street Fighter II sounds. That’s right. Sounds of Street Fighter II. It’s a keychain. I bet you want one. Bandai makes it, and it’s about ten bucks. More info here and video here.
While it’s only limited to a Japan and a build of 400 it can’t help but get our mouths salivating. 325 HP, Brembo brakes, updated exhuast and STI Tuned. Give us! More info at Subaru’s Japanese site.
Japan’s fastest tuner cars attacked Fuji Speedway last Sunday at the HKS Premium Day. You can check out some of Dino Dalle Carbonare’s (always) tasty pics at Speedhunters (part 1 and part 2), also check out some cool video footage here.
I’ve always wanted to get back into RC cars but year after year the running time on these toys just isn’t any better than the 80’s. Introducing the Hydrogen Fuel Cell. 45-50mins running time! About time yes?
One of the fun and unique things about Japan is its preponderance of large robots. From life-sized Gundam statues that light up at night to 2 ton metal sculptures of the Votoms Scopedog, it’s all there. But where do you go to find this cool stuff? Wonder no more, our friends at the Muza-Chan blog have come up with the ultimate tourist’s guide to finding Unfeasibly Large Robots In Japan, with maps and everything. Last one to the Tetsujin 28-go is a rotten egg!
JDMST forum member tetsuyagarage has just uploaded a lot of great images from the Japanese Classic Car Association New Years Meet in Odaiba. Click here to check them out (be sure to check the links to all 4 parts!).
Without racing there is no Honda. The Honda Sports Velocity-010 GT: 1,100kg, liquid-cooled, naturally aspirated V8. Listen to it. I have been for the past 5 minutes, it’s still running in the background. Gah, lovely.
Nismo has confirmed two teams that will field it’s 600hp GT1 car in this years FIA GT championship series.
The teams are Swiss Racing Team headed by Othmar Welti and British team Sumo Power GT led by James Rumsey. Each team will field two cars a piece which means 4 of the 24 GT1 cars on the grid later in the year will be Nissan GT-Rs.
The first race kicks off in May at Silverstone Circuit. More info on this car here although I personally think it looks much better without all the vinyl here. Video here.
